PolyU Tourist Satisfaction Index of 2014: An Overview
The 2014 PolyU TSI score was 74.50 on a scale of 0 to 100 – down 1.46 points from 75.96 in 2013. This score was the second TSI decline since the Index was launched in 2009 and the most significant drop over the 2009-2014 period. All source markets examined in this report received lower index scores compared with last year. Among the seven source markets, the Americas had the highest 2014 TSI of 81.16; whilst, Japan and Korea ranked seventh with a score of 66.98. A general decrease also happened to the overall tourist satisfaction index of the six service sectors. Particularly, the attractions sector had its index score dropped by 3.58 points than the previous year which accounted the largest drop of the index among all six service sectors. The transportation sector declined the least with 0.85 points lower than last year's score. These results illustrate a weakened service performance that need to be addressed and improved in the future.
